On November 10, the U.S. Copyright Office announced an additional extension for the deadline in responding to its notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) on procedures governing the initial stages of a proceeding before the Copyright Claims Board (CCB). Reply comments are now due by December 15 (and comments are due by November 30).

The U.S. Copyright Office “has further extended temporary adjustments to certain timing provisions under the Copyright Act for persons affected by the COVID-19 national emergency.” Register of Copyrights Shira Perlmutter has extended these modifications through December 31, 2021. “The Register’s authority under the CARES Act expires after that date, and therefore these adjustments will not be extended further.”
