On March 23, the U.S. Copyright Office posted position announcements for the three Copyright Claims Officers to serve on the Copyright Claims Board. According to the Office’s announcement and per the CASE Act, the three Copyright Claims Officers “will be appointed by the Librarian of Congress upon the recommendation of the Register of Copyrights.” It’s required that all Officers have substantial familiarity with copyright law, that one of them possess alternative dispute resolution experience, and the other two possess substantial experience in the evaluation, litigation, or adjudication of copyright infringement claims. Anyone interested in learning more about these openings, including how to apply, please see the USAJobs.gov postings for Copyright Claims Officer (General) and Copyright Claims Officer (Alternative Dispute Resolution).
