The Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act of 2010 directed the Register of Copyrights to submit recommendations to Congress to achieve the phase-out and eventual repeal of the Copyright Act’s cable and satellite statutory licenses, including proposals for timing and marketplace alternatives.
