And the Award Goes to…

Nearly a year and a half ago, our team set out to launch an intuitive, cutting edge website that would serve as a one-stop destination for all things copyright. Working with our creative agency, BlueFusion, our team began the all-encompassing process of translating our objectives and ideas into wireframes, page layouts and design concepts. Everyone on the Copyright Alliance staff contributed.

Nearly nine months later, on October 5, 2016, our team launched the all-new www.copyrightalliance.org with much excitement and anticipation. Page for page, the CA site was completely redesigned and rebuilt. It truly was a new destination for the copyright community and a labor of love for our team, and (in truth) a labor – period. Lots of hard work and long hours went into creating the new Alliance website (not to mention our new logo and brand identity), and we were thrilled that it fulfilled the mission we initially envisioned.

From keeping stakeholders apprised of new copyright cases and amicus briefs, to amplifying our creator members and their work on our homepage, to compiling the latest statements and coverage of important legislation (and much more), the Alliance website is now truly the destination to visit if you’re looking for anything related to copyright.

It’s a good feeling to know you’re on the right track when you tackle a project as vast as creating a new website. But the proverbial icing on the cake came in the form of a letter that we recently received. The letter announced that our site had been selected as a 2017 Webby Award Honoree by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). With 13,000 entries this year, from all 50 states and over 70 different countries around the world, the Webby Awards saw their most competitive year yet. So becoming an Honoree is definitely an honor that the CA team is proud of. But most importantly, this distinction is a reminder that we are succeeding at serving our members and the copyright community, which is exactly what we set out to accomplish, and it remains our most important goal.

If you haven’t visited our website recently, we hope you’ll spend some time there. We welcome and appreciate all feedback, and look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas.
