July 21, 2020

Washington, DC – The Copyright Alliance, which represents the copyright interests of over 1.8 million individual creators and over 13,000 organizations across the spectrum of copyright disciplines, announced the addition of two new members — FOX and the Music Artists Coalition (MAC).

FOX Corporation is an American media company headquartered in Los Angeles that produces and distributes compelling news, sports and entertainment content through its iconic domestic brands including FOX News Media, FOX Sports, FOX Entertainment and FOX Television Stations. “Our membership in the Copyright Alliance represents our belief that the work it’s doing is vital to advancing initiatives that protect and expand the copyright protections FOX relies on in order to grow,” said Daniel O’Brien, FOX’s Executive Vice President and Head of Government Relations.

The Music Artists Coalition’s (MAC) mission is to protect the rights of artists in the digital age by lobbying on national and state levels regarding issues that impact creators’ rights. MAC partners with key industry organizations as it works to protect the rights of performers and songwriters. “Copyright is of the utmost importance to music creators. MAC is excited to join the Copyright Alliance at this critical time and work together to protect artists and songwriters,” said Kristen Foster, Vice President of the Music Artists Coalition.

According to Copyright Alliance CEO Keith Kupferschmid, “We are thrilled to have FOX and MAC join as members during a time that’s so critical for copyright and the creator landscape. Although diverse in their businesses and initiatives, these organizations and their constituents rely upon copyright protections for their livelihoods. Further, they bring a wealth of expertise to the table. We look forward to working with them as we continue to fulfill our mission of educating people about the importance and value of copyright and protecting creator rights.”
