Washington, DC—December 17, 2021—The Copyright Alliance is pleased to announce two new Board Members whose terms will commence on January 1, 2022: Mary Rasenberger of the Authors Guild, who was re-elected to the board for a second contiguous term; and Shannon Sorensen of the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA). Both Mary and Shannon will be serving two-year terms.

According to Mary Rasenberger, “I am delighted and proud to serve another term on the board of the Copyright Alliance, an organization that has done so much for the creative community, defending the rights of creators to benefit from the use of their works so that they can keep creating. Creators’ rights and, as a result their incomes, are under attack from so many directions now. The Copyright Alliance has been a tremendous partner to organizations like ours that work to protect and promote the interests of creators.”

On being elected to the board, Shannon Sorensen noted, “I’m honored to be joining the board of the Copyright Alliance. This organization is a powerful advocate for creators and copyright owners of all sizes and across multiple industries. I look forward to working closely with Keith and his team over the next two years to continue the important work of defending and protecting copyright.”

According to Copyright Alliance CEO Keith Kupferschmid, “As 2022 gets underway, I look forward to continuing to work with Mary, as well as beginning to work with Shannon, on an array of Copyright Alliance initiatives that are critical to the copyright community during the coming year.”

“I’d also like to thank our departing Board Member—Danielle Coffey of the News Media Alliance, whose term is concluding—for her many contributions and exemplary service as an At-Large Board Member.”
