Upgrading The Copyright Office’s Mass Deposit

Full Question: We have been unsuccessful in depositing electronic copies of images, so we deposit by mail. Are there any plans to upgrade or simplify the technology to handle mass deposit needs?

Answer: Yes. The Office would like to improve, upgrade, and simplify its registration process, including the uploading of electronic deposits. This is one of the many issues discussed in the recently published Provisional Information Technology Modernization Plan and Cost Analysis (“IT Plan”) available on the Office’s website at: https://copyright.gov/reports/itplan. The Office is seeking public comment on the on a series of questions related to funding strategies and implementation timeline. We encourage participation in this public process.
