The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will host an international roundtable on artificial intelligence (AI), industrial designs, and inventorship. The event, which will be held in person and streamed online, will event will feature subject matter experts from the USPTO and the private sector who will examine a number of topics, including How inventorship/creatorship of designs is currently analyzed in various jurisdictions; How inventorship/creatorship standards for industrial designs are analyzed in light of generative AI; Whether there should be a different inventorship/creatorship standard for designs as compared to inventions; and more.
