The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will host the next event its Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) for Student Athletes Series to enable attendees to learn learn how to navigate a “NIL journey.” This event will be hosted in collaboration with the University of San Francisco School of Law and held both virtually and in person in San Francisco, CA. Event speakers have firsthand experience in securing NIL rights for student athletes. They will discuss topics such as the basics of NIL rules and related governance; how to build and protect an athlete’s brand; common pitfalls regarding NIL contracts; and much more.
