Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts New York (VLANY) will hold a two-day intensive workshop on basic mediation training for attorneys, artists, arts administrators, and other creative professionals with an interest or background in the arts. Participants will learn effective mediation skills as they relate to art-related issues through observing mock mediations, engaging in mediation simulations, and receiving feedback from program faculty. The workshop will focus on deal mediation skills, facilitative leadership skills, and resolution of disputes without resorting to litigation. Following completion of the program, participants will be eligible to take part as mediators in VLANY’s Mediate Art Program as matters arise.
