The Artists Rights Society (ARS) and the Center for Art Law will host a webinar titled Licensing Art for Movies & Productions: Process and Practice. During the event, presenters will lead a discussion on the practical aspects of incorporating artwork into film and television productions. The session will move beyond the legal intricacies of copyright, fair use, and licensing “to delve into the hands-on processes involved in selecting and utilizing artwork for media productions.” The event speakers are Janet Hicks, Vice President, Director of Licensing at Artists Rights Society; and Wendy Cohen, owner of Wendy Cohen Production Resources. Janet and Wendy will share how producers and creators make decisions about artwork based on production/script needs, ensuring a seamless integration that enhances storytelling, and provide ideas for how artists can make their images known as a potential source for on-camera inclusion.
