The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is hosting a conversation about innovation with National Inventors Hall of Fame inductee and optical biosensor industry leader Frances Ligler. The event will also feature Drew Hirshfeld, who is performing the functions and duties of the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO. Ligler will discuss her work as “a groundbreaking biochemist and bioengineer and offer lessons learned from her personal journey.” She will also discuss her 30+ patents and her portable optical biosensors, which are “used in labs, food production plants, clinics in developing countries, pollutant cleanup sites, and areas of concern for the military and homeland security.” For additional information and to register to attend, please click here.
