Copyright Society, YLD/BESLA, Copyright Alliance: Black in Copyright (Part II)

The Copyright Alliance, Copyright Society and the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA) will host part two of a three-part series, titled Black in Copyright. The event will feature a “moderated discussion focused on Black creators.” Through this discussion, the event “will provide awareness about the Black experience in Copyright with the hopes of facilitating a dialogue and understanding to lead to more inclusivity, acceptance, and diverse representation in all areas of Copyright.” It will also include a discussion of personal experiences and tools to support the growth and inclusion of Black creators. Speakers include JaQuel Knight, director, creative director, and award-winning celebrity choreographer; and Maimouna Youssef (Mumu Fresh), a critically acclaimed Afro-Indigenous singer, emcee, songwriter, and activist.
