On February 29, the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) will host a virtual Town Hall titled The Heart of the Matter on Copyright, AI Training, and LLMs. During the event, a panel of experts will discuss the technology behind LLMs to help attendees better understand how and why LLM training requires copying of original works—and why it matters for creators, publishers, research-driven companies, academic institutions, and researchers. The event’s guest speakers are Professor Noam Shemtov, Queen Mary University of London; Professor Daniel Gervais, Vanderbilt University Law School; and Babis Marmanis, EVP & CTO, Copyright Clearance Center.
