FAQ

Will There Be A Copyright Registration Subscription?

Full Question: Is the Copyright Office considering having a subscription option for fees, where a creator can register an unlimited number of works for one annual payment?

Answer: The Office is open to considering new options for registration, including new options that are well-suited to particular forms of creativity. The reality is that we cannot accomplish many of the options we would like to explore in the technological environment in which we currently exist. The essential starting point for these opportunities is the modernization of our IT infrastructure. Please see our proposal for accomplishing this in the Provisional IT Plan: https://copyright.gov/reports/itplan.
