USPTO and Santa Clara Law School Host Innovator Diversity Pilots Conference
November 18, 2022 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm America/Los_Angeles
As a growing number of companies and organizations work to close the innovator-inventor gaps among underrepresented populations of inventors, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and Santa Clara University School of Law are hosting an all-day event to focus on innovator diversity pilot projects and effective practices to increase participation in innovation. During the event, leading academics and speakers from the USPTO “will discuss how to run pilot programs and quantify their impact using best practices as documented in the IPO Diversity Toolkit and High Tech Law Institute’s Best Practices in Diversity Guide”; and explore “novel ways to increase the participation of…underrepresented groups in innovation and inventing.” Registration is free for remote attendees, and $55 for in-person attendance for members of the corporate sector-only. There is no charge to attend for persons from the nonprofit sector (academics, government employees, and non-governmental organizations), whether in-person or online.
