The U.S. Copyright Office will hold a virtual roundtable discussion regarding its notice of inquiry (NOI) on Copyright Protections for [Press] Publishers, which the Office is studying per a request from Congress. The roundtable will include a discussion of “comments on the effectiveness of copyright protections for publishers, with a focus on press publishers… [and] are intended “to support a congressionally-requested study of whether additional protections for press publishers are desirable, following the recent implementation of such protections in the European Union.” An initial request for comments was due by November 26. Second round comments are due by January 5, 2022.
