Copyright Alliance Welcomes Nielsen as Its Newest Member

October 6, 2025

Washington, DC—The Copyright Alliance, which represents the copyright interests of over two million individual creators and more than 15,000 organizations across the spectrum of copyright disciplines, announced the addition of its newest member—Nielsen.

Nielsen is a global leader in audience measurement and data analytics. It recently introduced a generational update to TV ratings with its “Big Data + Panel” measurement that tracks viewing from cable, satellite, set-top boxes, and smart TVs across 45 million households and 75 million devices. Nielsen is also the leader in streaming TV measurement. Its rankings are the source of truth for TV and platform viewership, with rankings like The Gauge and The Nielsen Streaming Top 10.

According to Copyright Alliance CEO Keith Kupferschnid, “We are thrilled to have Nielsen join us as a member. As a company whose business depends on gathering, analyzing, and licensing media data, like all other Copyright Alliance members, Nielsen relies on copyright to protect its own works and when it licenses the works of others to incorporate into its AI tools.”
