
WALA/DC Bar Fundraiser and Panel on AI and the Arts

Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts (WALA) and the DC Bar Intellectual Property Law Community will host a fundraiser and networking event in support of WALA, titled Artificial Intelligence and the Arts: IP Rights, Legal Challenges, and Opportunities. The event will feature “a [panel] discussion on the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and the arts” as speakers examine how AI is affecting visual artists, musicians, filmmakers, writers, and other creatives. They will also address the legal challenges surrounding the use of copyrighted material in training AI models. The panelists will include Janet Fries, Of Counsel, Lutzker & Lutzker LLP; Joshua Kaufman, Partner, Venable, LLP; Kenneth Kaufman, Senior Counsel, Moses & Singer LLP; and John Mason, President, Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts (WALA).
