In commenting on the event, Copyright Alliance CEO Keith Kupferschmid stated, “This year, as we celebrate World IP Day, I’m thrilled that the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) announced that the theme is “Music and IP: Celebrating Creativity.” Music has always played a unique role in connecting people, inspiring change, and driving cultural growth. This theme provides an important opportunity to recognize how copyright protections enable musicians, songwriters, composers, publishers, PROs, record labels, and so many others who work in the music ecosystem, to thrive, supporting not just their creative expression but also the global creative economy that their work powers.”
