Copyright Alliance Announces Two Newly Elected Board Members

Washington, DC — January 6, 2025 — The Copyright Alliance is pleased to announce two new Board Members whose terms commenced on January 1, 2025: Alicia Calzada of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) and Jessica (Jessie) Richard of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Both Alicia and Jessie will be serving two-year terms.

In a statement about serving on the board, Alicia noted, “I’m honored to be selected to work with the Copyright Alliance and support its efforts by joining the Board. Copyright fuels the creative pursuits that drive our democracy and our culture, and its importance cannot be overstated. I am beyond grateful for the work the Copyright Alliance has done over the years and look forward to serving the organization and its mission.”

In her statement, Jessie noted, “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on Copyright Alliance Board. The organization’s mission of protecting the fundamental rights of creators has never been more vital and it is a privilege to work with such passionate, committed members and accomplished, insightful colleagues to support human creativity and the arts.”

In his comments on the election, Copyright Alliance CEO Keith Kupferschmid stated, “I look forward to working with Jessie and Alicia on an array of Copyright Alliance initiatives that are critical to the copyright community. Both have long been involved in many important efforts, and there is no doubt that they will make tremendous contributions while serving on the board. I would also like to thank Todd Dupler of the Recording Academy and Jeff Sedlik of American Photographic Artists for the tremendous impact they made while serving on the Board.”
