Copyright Alliance Applauds House for Passing Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act (S. 2559)

Washington, D.C. In a statement issued today, the Copyright Alliance applauded the House for passing the Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act (S. 2559), legislation that amends the Copyright Act to enable the United States to join the Treaty.

According to Copyright Alliance CEO Keith Kupferschmid, “We commend the House on today’s passage of the Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act, legislation that was unanimously passed by the Senate in June. This legislation will build upon existing international copyright principles to provide persons with print disabilities with access to a wealth of published works, which might otherwise not be available to them, in a manner that is respectful of the rights that copyright owners have related to those works. We now look forward to the bill being signed into law by the President.”
