On January 3, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) published a Request for Comments in response to a petition from the U.S. Public Interest Research Group Education Fund (PIRG) and iFixit that asks the FTC to “initiate a rulemaking to protect consumers’ right to repair products that they have purchased.” Comments in support of or in opposition to the petition are due by February 2.
