Copyright Alliance Welcomes New Academic Advisory Board Members

Washington, DC – The Copyright Alliance is pleased to congratulate and welcome two new members to its Academic Advisory Board: Bhamati Viswanathan — an Emerson College Affiliate Professor, former Legal Fellow with the Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property (CPIP), Trustee of the Copyright Society of the USA, and author of “Cultivating Copyright: How Creators and Creative Industries Can Harness Intellectual Property to Survive the Digital Age”; and Lateef Mtima — a Howard University Professor of Law, a past member of the Advisory Council for the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, Founder and Director of the Institute for Intellectual Property and Social Justice, and editor/contributing author of “Intellectual Property, Entrepreneurship and Social Justice” and “The Cambridge Handbook on Intellectual Property Social Justice” (forthcoming 2021).

Bhamati Viswanathan observed, “I’m truly honored and excited to join the Copyright Alliance’s Academic Advisory Board as it supports creative enterprises and empowers the creative and artistic community. I look forward to working with its staff and with fellow board members on critical copyright-related interests and amicus briefs in support of the copyright sector.”

Lateef Mtima noted, “As 2021 commences, it’s a pleasure to join with the Copyright Alliance to address many critical issues of copyright law and policy and to participate in its ongoing commitment to copyright and the creator community, as a member of the Academic Advisory Board.”
