Copyright Alliance Commends Register of Copyrights Karyn Temple on USCO Service

Washington, D.C. – Today, the Copyright Alliance released a statement commending U.S. Register of Copyrights Karyn Temple on her dedicated years of service at the U.S. Copyright Office, and congratulating her on her newly-announced role as Senior Executive Vice President and Global General Counsel with the Motion Picture Association.

According to Copyright Alliance CEO Keith Kupferschmid, “On behalf of the Copyright Alliance and the rest of the copyright community, we commend and thank Register Temple for the outstanding work she’s accomplished at the U.S. Copyright Office during the three years she served as Acting and Appointed Register of Copyrights, as well as for her devoted service in other capacities since 2011; and we congratulate her on her new role with the Motion Picture Association as Senior Executive Vice President and Global General Counsel.

“Throughout Register Temple’s tenure at the Copyright Office, she has demonstrated a thoughtful and balanced approach to copyright policy and to Office management overall. Among her many significant contributions, Register Temple has led critical efforts to modernize the Office’s systems and processes and made numerous changes to the copyright registration system to improve its efficiency. There is no doubt whatsoever that her tenure at the Office will result in a lasting legacy of success.

“As Register Temple concludes her position with the Office and commences a new opportunity with the Motion Picture Association, the Copyright Alliance and our members thank and congratulate her. We also look forward to working with the Librarian, Congress and other stakeholders as the Librarian begins her search for a new Register of Copyrights, as well as for an Acting Register to serve while the Register search gets underway.”
