I found someone infringing a copyrighted work that I registered. Can the Copyright Alliance help me stop this?
The Copyright Alliance itself does not currently provide legal services and recommends contacting an attorney for legal advice. In the near future we do plan on providing some limited enforcement assistance to our members. Please stop back to our website in the coming months when we will have more information. If you are interested in joining the Copyright Alliance go to our Join CA page to find out more.
You may also want to consider looking into your local law school, which may offer a clinic that provides legal advice and services to creative professionals, or other organizations like Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, which may offer similar assistance. To help you with your search, the Copyright Alliance provides a directory of creator assistance organizations.
The Copyright Alliance also partners with the law firm of Columbia, Cravath, Swain, and Moore to assist in finding potential clients in the New York City area for an externship program to provide free legal representation to individuals and small businesses in lawsuits involving cutting edge copyright issues. More information, including application instructions and requirements, is available here.
